Late Morning ~ Friday, March 3, 2000

We are currently in the process of completing the distribution of
The "Heart of the
Matter" Proposal
(Marie's proposal to the
Missouri Baptist
Convention)
to various members of the leadership of the Missouri Baptist Convention,
the Southern Baptist Convention, and the press and media.
We anticipate that The "Heart of the Matter"
Proposal should be
web-posted on this site by early Monday morning.
This weekend, we should be posting a number of related documents
and other information.
Please check back often as the posting schedule may
vary.
Also, we are in the process of adding a number of links
to various
pages and updating some information.
We found this brief history on use of the term "anaphylaxis" to be
particularly relevant.
We submit the information below for the consideration
of the SBU Trustees
and the Executive Committee of
the Missouri Baptist Convention.
~~~~~~~~~~~~*******~~~~~~~~~~~~
Anaphylaxis - Life-Threatening
Allergy
What is anaphylaxis?
Anaphylaxis is the word used for serious and rapid
allergic reactions
usually involving more than one part of the body which, if severe
enough, can kill.
The word anaphylaxis
was coined when scientists tried to protect
dogs
against a poison by immunising them with small doses. Far from being
protected,
the dogs died suddenly when they got the
poison again.
The word used for protection by immunisation is
'prophylaxis', so the
scientists coined the word 'anaphylaxis' to
mean the opposite of protection.
What the scientists saw in the dogs helped them to understand that the
same can happen in humans. This helped us to understand asthma and
other allergies too, because they work in a similar way.
For those who wished to receive notice, the new
SBU Boycott posts,
"Murderous Hearts":
Thieves, Thugs and Liars for
the Kingdom
will begin distribution as early as next week.
This is the Boycott material that we will be taking to the annual
meeting of the Southern Baptist
Convention in mid-June in
Orlando, Florida.
Others need to be warned about corrupt organizations like the
Missouri Baptist Convention and
Southwest Baptist University
so that no one else will be hurt and other lives will not be ruined
and wasted.
We will be working on this Website most of the weekend.
Please excuse any inconvenience.
The "Heart of the Matter"
and the new SBU Boycott
"Murderous Hearts":
Marie's safety -- and the safety of her family, friends, and a number
of witnesses.
We will be reporting back this evening and will be adding some
Morning ~ Tuesday,
March 7, 2000 about 9:00 am (CST)
For the past week, we have been discussing -- with
several observers --
both The "Heart of the Matter" Proposal
and the SBU Boycott post --
"Murderous Hearts: Thieves,
Thugs, and Liars for the Kingdom. "
Having now received input from a variety of sources, we are all in
agreement that the situation is exceedingly volatile and requires careful
management if Marie is to survive the proceedings.
Observers have noted that the presence of Southwest Baptist University's
current attorneys in these discussions is likely to thwart any reasonable
dialog ... and the eventual resolution of these difficulties.
Of course, one must expect to meet a wall of howling lawyers when
attempting to communicate with any modern corporation.
For better or worse, this army of raging attorneys is an inevitable aspect
of our American system of justice. This is to be expected and is certainly
not the substance of our concern and complaint.
Rather, our complaint involves the self-serving,
wild-eyed, hateful, and,
at times, dangerous interference of these lawyers.
Having already compromised themselves
by their knowledge or
participation in unethical, immoral, and (probable) criminal conduct
and seeking to conceal their own misjudgment, these attorneys are
now willing to subvert and undermine the best
interests of Southwest
Baptist University and the Missouri Baptist Convention.
As there is little or no statute of limitations for the unethical conduct
of
attorneys, this obstruction is not likely to be resolved any time soon.
We, therefore, urge the immediate and prudent intervention of the
authorities of Southwest Baptist
University and the Missouri Baptist
Convention.
Over the last week, observers have suggested that -- in order to facilitate
a solution to these difficulties -- we publicly encourage authorities in
this matter to consider the removal of these particular
attorneys from
these immediate discussions.
We would like to respectfully request this action
at this time.
As prayerful thought, wisdom, and insight will reveal this is, in fact,
also in the best interest of these
attorneys.
Although we will allow two days -- until Thursday noon -- for the
consideration of this request, we are in agreement that it is necessary
to release a variety of additional information in the interim.
Please check for additional postings by noon tomorrow.
More to come ...
After colossal wrestings with the Internet (and certain software programs),
we are back on line.
We have not yet received any indication of a decision by the officials
of
the Southwest Baptist University
and the Missouri Baptist Convention
regarding our request.
Therefore, we will continue our distribution of the
The "Heart of the Matter"
Proposal
(Marie's new proposal to the
Missouri Baptist
Convention)
and related information to the remaining authorities and officials of
the Missouri Baptist Convention and
Southern Baptist Convention.
The distribution should be completed by this weekend.
We would like to web-post The "Heart of the Matter"
Proposal
and related material by no later than early Monday morning.
Once again, we would like to thank all of those who have given their
input and advise over the last week (and months ... in fact, years) in
dealing with this difficult and dangerous situation.
The "Heart of the Matter" Proposal provides
reasonable means
of resolving these perplexities in a decent and civil manner.
It is hoped that some
individuals among
all the genteel and learned
officials of the Missouri Baptist Convention
and Southern Baptist Convention
have the wisdom to perceive and implement a prudent and godly course
of immediate action.
We will be posting regularly through the rest of the week and the weekend.
Please check often for updates -- usually about 12:00 noon.
Your prayers are appreciated.
Thank you.
Morning ~ Friday,
While preparing the new Asthma and Allergy
Information Page
for this site, we were informed of that the
American Academy of Allergy,
Asthma, and Immunology (AAAAI) has added this to their
Section
on Occupational
Asthma:
Occupational Asthma:
Causes
Occupational asthma may be
caused by one
of three mechanisms.
These include:
*Direct irritant effects ...
*Allergy (long-term exposure) ...
*Pharmacologic mechanisms
Inhalation of some substances in aerosol form can
directly lead
to the accumulation of naturally occurring chemicals
in the body,
such as
histamine or
acetylcholine within the
lung, which in turn
lead to asthma.
For example,
insecticides, used in agricultural work
[or in illegal,
indoor
applications at Southwest Baptist University], can cause a
buildup of
acetylcholine, which
causes airway muscles to
contract,
thereby
constricting
airways.
We are completing this and a variety of other pages which should be
Morning ~ Saturday, March 11, 2000 about 7:30 am (CST)
Yesterday, we heard that individuals associated with SBU were
-- yet again -- distributing inaccurate and deliberately manipulative
information.
If this were only the usual, now commonplace, administration-sponsored
slander and abuse against Marie, she would have asked us to ignore it,
but as this involves medical information and could seriously jeopardize
the welfare and well-being of others as well, Marie has asked that we
publicly respond.
For this reason, there will be a delay in the posting of several new pages.
We are awaiting a number of abstracts and articles from our medical
advisors -- which we will be posting sometime this weekend.
Please check back later tonight.
Thank you.
After careful consideration, we have
withdrawn
The "Heart of the Matter"
Proposal (Marie's new proposal to the
Missouri Baptist
Convention)
from circulation.
The "Heart of the Matter" Proposal is withdrawn; the offer no longer stands.
In the hope that Southwest Baptist
University and the Missouri Baptist
Convention
would fulfill their legal obligations and "Christian"
mission, we have withheld
from pursuing other actions.
We have now begun to engage alternative means of
obtaining treatment and
restitution for Marie.
We apologize for the suffering that this will bring into many lives, but,
in the face of such brutality, we no longer have any other
options.
For others who might benefit, the medical
information mentioned in
the
March 11 Update should be available either later today or early
tomorrow.
We will post a more detailed explanation of the circumstances which lead
us to the this decision over the next several days.
When The "Heart of the Matter" Proposal
(Marie's new proposal to the
Missouri Baptist
Convention) was withdrawn
for consideration yesterday,
we were more than a little concerned.
Today, we are more
than convinced that this was the
proper
response.
We asked:
*Even
if the the Missouri Baptist Convention
brokered some arrangement,
how could an agreement be reached with such apparently
corrupt and
apathetic institutions which are so lacking in moral
and ethical integrity?
*How
could we count on them to keep their word -- the word of individuals
who had so often and fiercely resorted to outrageous
lies and savage
slanders in the past?
*How
could we continue to keep silent in the light of such dangerous,
criminal, or unethical conduct?
We have begun distributing
long-overdue letters to various
authorities detailing
what has happened at Southwest Baptist
University.
These letters will be posted as they arrive at their destinations this
week.
According to the calendar on their website, the next meeting of the
Missouri Baptist
Convention Executive Committee
Meeting will be
April 10 and 11.
We will be confronting the
Missouri Baptist
Convention with this information
at that time.
As we understand it, the first of the
long-overdue
letters should be arriving
today or tomorrow.
First, is the letter to
President of the Executive Committee of the Missouri
Baptist Convention, Jim
Hill, which:
*briefly sketches the history
of the situation;
*requests a formal
investigation by the
Missouri Baptist
Convention
into the unethical and/or illegal conduct of
Southwest Baptist University
officials, administration, faculty, staff, and
associates;
*outlines additional action
taken through various governmental and
regulating agencies and authorities,
*and delineates Marie's
objectives in addressing the
Missouri Baptist
Convention during
the April 10 and 11 meeting of
the Missouri Baptist
Convention Executive Committee
Meeting.
Carbon copies of the letter to Jim
Hill will also be arriving at the offices of other
Late
Morning ~ Monday, March 20, 2000 about 11::40 am (CST)
Today is the anniversary of the
deadly
organophosphate nerve gas (sarin)
attack on the Tokyo subway by members of the religious cult Aum Shinrikyo.
The nerve gas used in the attacked -- sarin -- is an organophosphate closely
related to organophosphate pesticides (such as the diazinon used at SBU)
which poisons and kills by the inhibition of the
neurotransmitter cholinesterase.
As stated in emedicine: EMERGENCY MEDICINE An
on-line Medical Reference
under
Toxicity,
Organophosphate and
Carbamate:
...
Exposure to organophosphates and carbamates
produces a characteristic,
treatable syndrome in
humans. Its recognition and timely intervention
is
of great importance to emergency physicians and their
patients.
Organophosphates
irreversibly bind to
cholinesterase causing the
phosphorylation and deactivation
of acetylcholinesterase. The subsequent
accumulation of acetylcholine at the neural synapse causes
an initial
overstimulation followed by eventual
exhaustion and disruption of neural
transmission in the central
and peripheral nervous systems (CNS and PNS).
If the organophosphate/cholinesterse bond is
not broken by pharmacologic
intervention [that is, the
administration of the antidote (atropine sulfate)
and other drug therapies] within
24 hours, large
amounts of cholinesterase
are destroyed causing
long-term morbidity or
death. ...
In the Tokyo nerve gas attack, twelve people were killed and thousands were
sickened -- many (even those who received the antidote), even five years
later,
still suffer.
Please remember these victims today.
Marie, however,
was refused emergency medical care (or
even a
ride to the hospital) and was not given the name of the applicators
or any way to obtain information on the name and antidote of the
organophosphate to which she had been exposed.
For those who have asked:
No, neither Marie nor her representative have received
any direct or
formal communication -- spoken,
written, or flown by carrier pigeon --
from any authorized representative of
Southwest Baptist University,
the
Missouri Baptist Convention or the Southern
Baptist Convention since
Marie's discussion with SBU President, C. Pat Taylor and the presentation
of
"The
Healing Hearts Proposal" in September 1999.
As far as we know, none of these entities have made
an offer or even
ventured the slightest effort to assist Marie or resolve the situation.
However, friends (and other concerned individuals) have been subject
to repeated hostility, insults, slanders, threats, and intimidations.
Perhaps it might have been easier if Marie had been poisoned by
Aum Shinrikyo or some other religious cult rather than by these particular
religious ... ah ... organizations.
At least, she would have been given the antidote ....
Morning ~ Tuesday, March 21, 2000 about 11:00 am (CST)
Various individuals who have received the information and complaints
contained in the
letters
have been shocked and concerned.
We have been asked that information on particular aspects of these
investigations not be posted for the time being -- although other
information will be cleared for posting later this week.
At the last moment, Marie pulled the
letter to Jim Hill,
the Executive
President of the Missouri Baptist
Convention, reasoning that -- given
SBU's history in political and criminal intrigue -- it would
not be wise
to alert the Missouri Baptist authorities of
the details of the agencies
and individuals involved in any pending investigation against SBU,
the Missouri Baptist Convention, or
individuals associated with them.
Throughout the week, Marie (and others assisting her) will continue to
cooperate in providing materials for several investigations and inquiries
regarding the practices and policies of Southwest Baptist
University and
the Missouri Baptist Convention and the
conduct of particular individuals.
We ask, once again -- already knowing that are pleas are falling on deaf
ears
and hardened hearts -- that the the Missouri
Baptist Convention reconsider
the impact of these investigations on the community.
We believe that if the careers, reputations, and, perhaps even the freedom
of certain individuals are to be sacrificed for sake of the self-consuming
arrogance and greed of certain individuals and their accomplices, then
those involved should, at the very least, know the truth about
the
extraordinary
pain, brutality, and privation which Marie has endured and
the lengths
to which she has gone in order to
prevent these
consequences in their
lives.
With the assurance that the complaints are now beginning to circulate
to other agencies and individuals, a friend has earnestly requested
that Marie reconsider offering "The Heart of the
Matter" Proposal
(Marie's new proposal to the
Missouri Baptist
Convention) --
for the sake of all of those involved.
After much prayer and several outright refusals, Marie has agreed
that the presentation of The "Heart of the Matter"
Proposal to the
Missouri Baptist
Convention would be both appropriate and merciful.
However, due to the severity of the situation, Marie has stipulated
certain
revisions and the introduction of a
new section regarding suggested disciplinary
action against those SBU employees and associates involved
in unethical
and illegal conduct.
Over the next few days, we will be assisting in the revision and preparation
of the new
"Revised Heart of the Matter" Proposal.
We anticipate that the entire
"Revised Heart of the Matter" Proposal
will be sent individually to seven different executives or officials of
the Missouri
Baptist Convention -- BEFORE THIS
WEEKEND.
At the same time, "The
Revised
Heart of the Matter" Proposal
--
excluding the section on the suggested disciplinary action
--
will be posted on this website.
Also scheduled for posting this weekend, is the revised letter to the
President of the Executive Committee
of the Missouri Baptist Convention,
Jim Hill, which:
*briefly sketches the history
of the situation;
*requests a formal
investigation by the
Missouri Baptist
Convention
into the unethical and/or illegal conduct of
Southwest Baptist University
officials, administration, faculty, staff, and
associates;
*outlines additional actions
taken through various governmental and
regulating agencies and authorities,
*and delineates Marie's
objectives in addressing the
Missouri Baptist
Convention during
the April 10 and 11 meeting of
the Missouri Baptist
Convention Executive Committee
Meeting.
Those of us manning the website have been asked to will continue
adding
new links, pages, and information over the next few days.
Thank you for your prayers.
More to come ...
Morning ~
Monday, March 27, 2000 about 8:30 am (CST)
We have been asked to announce that Marie's new proposal to the
Missouri Baptist
Convention entitled:
"Sensitivity of the Heart: A Proposal
For Peace."
will be distributed over the course of several days between Monday,
April 3, 2000 and Friday, April 7, 2000 to several dozen officials
of the Missouri Baptist and Southern Baptist Conventions.
At that time, the proposal will be web-posted to this website.
The revised letter to the President of the Executive
Committee
of the Missouri Baptist Convention,
Jim Hill will also be posted
at that time.
We were disappointed that we were not able to complete our dozen
additions to this site this past weekend, but we asked to help with
two new websites related to the SBU
Boycott.
Hopefully, we will be able to finish the postings for this site in the
next several days.
Thank you for your patience.
