The Spring Meeting of
Executive Committee of the Missouri Baptist
Convention
is scheduled for this coming week --
Monday, April 10
and
Tuesday, April
11
at Camp Windermere, a Missouri Baptist Convention
facility.
During this meeting,
we will attempt to resolve this
situation.

However, if -- as has been the case
in the past --
these attempts are ignored and no resolution is forthcoming,
on Monday, April 17,
2000,
we will proceed with the posting of:

Our objective is to have this information available to the
pastors, leadership, and membership of the Missouri Baptist churches
before they meet for the
New Directions Conference

5.

One of the scheduled speakers will be
Vernon Armitage,
a SBU alumnus and current Trustee of Southwest Baptist University.
His topic will be: Kingdom Growth through Empowering
Leaders.
A second speaker will be SBU Alumnus,
James "Jim" Hill
His topic: New Directions
2000.
Missouri Baptists serving together to grow
Great Commission churches for the glory of God.

-- as, unfortunately, has been the case in the past --
no resolution is forthcoming from the
pastors
and leadership of the Missouri Baptist
churches,
on Monday, May 15,

At the SBC Annual Meeting,
the members of the Southern Baptist Convention
will be asked to boycott
Southwest
Baptist University
and
sanction
or
discipline
Southwest Baptist and Missouri Baptist
officials.

The SBU
BOYCOTT
calls for immediate action
by
the Southern Baptist
Convention,
the Missouri Baptist
Convention membership,
and the general public in boycotting
Southwest Baptist University (SBU)
in Bolivar, Missouri due to:

deceptive, unethical, immoral,
and possibly criminal business practices;
*
the advocacy of defamation, abuse, and
violence
against those who disagree with these unethical, immoral,
deceptive, and potentially criminal practices;
*
and the abandonment of Christian principles,
ethical and moral business precepts, and family values.

In order to insure the protection and survival of witnesses,
it has become necessary to take other action
in addition to that outlined above.
