~*~Updates and New Posts for July 2001~*~

 Marie has received
no word
from SBU, the MBC,
or anyone else associated with the
list of individuals and agencies
in the Healing Hearts Proposal.

Nope, no one has yet contributed to Marie's
Donation Savings Account.

A perfect record.

Next Missouri Baptist Convention
Executive Board Meeting

July 9-10, 2001

More Days To Go

Thursday, July 5, 2001 about 5:00 am

Finally, Marie's signed
Letter to Mr. Jim Hill
the Executive Director
of the Missouri Baptist Convention
which requests communication with
the entire
Executive Board
of the Missouri Baptist Convention
as they meet this coming week (July 9-10)
is on its way.

For good measure, the letter will be posted
later on this site.

Thursday, July 5, 2001 about 11:30 am

Great News!
Marie will be receiving financial assistance
from out-of-state sources.

And, she has received several offers and opportunities
to continue her college education
at other universities!

Friday, July 6, 2001 about 7:30 am

Mr. Jim Hill is on vacation this week.
(Sigh ... no comment.)

Regardless, a large packet of information
-- including a proposed contract --
will be available for Mr. Hill to distribute
to each member of the
Executive Board of the Missouri Baptist Convention
on Monday morning as their
July 9-10 meeting begins.

Monday, July 9, 2001 about 8:30 am

The Executive Board of the Missouri Baptist Convention
begins their meeting this morning.

Monday, July 9, 2001 about 12:30 am

Great News!
We have found a treatment program for Marie's injuries
which confirms an 85 to 90 per cent recovery rate
within two to five years of treatment.

No, she does not want to be (or need to be)
warehoused in some nursing home to keep her quiet.

Now, she needs the funds to relocate abroad
and pay for the treatment.

Marie has made tremendous strides in her recovery
and will continue to do so --
if she is not repeatedly harassed, assaulted, or injured
by individuals who have
only their own selfish and greedy motives at heart.

An Advisement:
It would be advantageous if
Dr. C. Pat Taylor (SBU President),
Dr. Bill Little (Advisor to the SBU President),

Dr. Ray Leininger,
(SBU Trustee/Pastor of First Baptist Bolivar),
were available or somehow accessible
tomorrow morning (July 10)
between 8:00 am and 11:30 am.

More to come ...

Monday, July 9, 2001 about 10:18 pm

There was another heavy petrochemical
on Marie's home late tonight.

An Eighth Letter to Mr. Jim Hill,
Executive Director of the
Missouri Baptist Convention

Tuesday, June 10, 2001 7:40 am (CST)

Tuesday, July 10, 2001
about 4:30 pm and 6:00 pm (see addition below)

In spite of all the other activities today
(see below),
we wanted to post this

wonderful legislative news!
Congress Moves to Recognize
"Gulf War Illness"

Here's a copy of the (short) bill!
Guess who signed on as co-sponsor
on March 14, 2001?
Our own
Congressman Roy Blunt,
former Trustee, President and CEO
of Southwest Baptist University!

Persian Gulf War Illness
Compensation Act of 2001

H.R. 612

 Marie is our hero!

Before she courageously endured
extensive, week-long testing in January of 1992,
few doctors were willing to treat Gulf War soldiers,
but after witnessing Marie's agonizing symptoms
and the results of these rigorous tests,
her doctor was convinced.

He began to research and treat the cause
of the mysterious symptoms
displayed by the Gulf War vets
and placed several ads in the Dallas paper,
thus becoming one of the first doctors
to actively seek and treat Gulf War soldiers.

As a result,
the lives of many soldiers and their families
were changed for the better.

A reminder:  Not one Gulf War soldier
ever actually bled
or suffered from chemical burns
as a result of exposure to wartime chemicals.

If even one soldier had bled or shown
the acute symptoms of chemical injury
due to organophosphate chemical weapons,
then-president Bush (Senior) declared that
these chemical weapons
and their effects on the body
were so heinous
that he would feel justified in retaliating
with nuclear weapons --
thus initiating World War III.

But ...
when Marie bled
and suffered acute injuries
due to SBU's illegal organophosphate
pesticide misapplications,
SBU retaliated with
a decade-long war on her.

Monday, July 23, 2001 about 7:30 am

Marie has struggled
since the July 9 chemical assault
and is now recovering well.

Tuesday, July 24, 2001 about 6:30 am

We are HAPPY to report that
initial stages have gone very well
we will be continuing the process today.

Congratulations Graduating Summer Students!
Travel Safely!

Now that the students are leaving until mid-August,
some are concerned that SBU may launch
another attack to further harm (or even kill) Marie.

The three days of thunder showers
which are predicted for the weekend,
along with the new
surveillance, self-defensive, and protective measures and devices,
should minimize any further risk of chemical assault
as information is distributed
to local, state, and national leaders.

We will (at least) summarize today's events
later tonight.

Letters to follow shortly ...

Saturday, July 28, 2001 about 7:30 am

Local and state information and  letters should
be delivered today and tomorrow.

Other deliveries went well.

Sunday, July 29, 2001 about 6:00 am

Marie has reported some
suspicious (possibly stalking-related) activity,
but no further chemical attacks.

Tuesday, July 31, 2001 about 6:00 am

After spending yesterday in consultation with others
and most of the night in prayer,
Marie and her advisors have determined
to attempt to communicate with
local and state officials again
this afternoon.

Your prayers are welcomed.

There seems to have been a rumor in the last
several weeks that Marie had left Bolivar --
prompted in part by the fact that her mail
(having been terribly contaminated
by the pesticide/chemical attack,
then heavy perfume, then torrential rain)
was left in the mailbox to air out for over a week .

We are told that some were even planning
another "well-being check."

To clarify, no, Marie did not leave Bolivar yet!

That is, however, what
Marie (and all of us)
would like to see
but we would like to see her alive
and as well as possible -- not dead and in a box.

Marie wants to leave; SBU wants her gone.
Surely, with an entire community full of
university-educated, Christian scholars and theologians,
something can be peacefully arranged
before the beginning of the new school year
... or sooner.
