This is to confirm that my representative has just spoken to you,
Empire District Electric Company's Customer Service representative,
Lynda Thompson.

We have made the following payment arrangement:

  I will mail (via certified mail) a payment for the September
  billing of $420.31 on Friday, October 5, 2001 to the Joplin
  office of the Empire District Electric Company.

  A second payment, the October 2001 billing of $420.31, will
  be mailed (via certified mail) on Friday, October 12, 2001 to
  the Joplin office of the Empire District Electric Company.

  My representative has agreed to call or fax you, Ms. Lynda
  Thompson, on Friday, October 5, 2001 and again on Friday,
  October 12, 2001
to confirm the certification number on the
  envelope of which contains the $420.31 payment.

You have confirmed that this payment agreement will INSURE
that my electrical service will not be discontinued at any time
during September, October, and until at least November 15, 2001.

Please bear in mind that the post office has informed me that
a certified letter may take anywhere from four (4) to seven (7)
working days to arrive in Joplin.
