of Southwest Baptist University,
the Missouri Baptist Convention,
and the Southern Baptist Convention,
in this -- and in a variety of other matters --

the heart of the Gospel
and the Kingdom of the Lord Jesus Christ.

God is in no way at fault for what
these individuals
have chosen to do in His name.

For these reasons,
we are compelled to once again
to raise this cry.

Following the election of  the new leadership
to the Missouri Baptist Convention
during the annual meeting which is currently in progress,
we will present to the leadership
-- and to the specific individuals involved  --
an entreaty
to act with long overdue integrity
and take individual
financial and spiritual responsibility
for their injurious, slanderous,
fraudulent, and/or destructive conduct.

If these individuals should,
as has been the unfortunate case in the past,
turn a deaf ear and arrogant sneer to our entreaty,
this entreaty
will then be made public
and posted on this site --
within that week.

If there is still no response from those involved, 
this entreaty --
along with accompanying letters and documentation -- 
will then, regretfully, be forwarded
to the appropriate officials
in order to initiate
a variety of criminal and civil actions
against these individuals 
and their cooperating organizational entities.

Up until this point,
this and several sister websites
have deliberately remained
relatively private and local --
primarily intended to communicate
with local individuals and contributors,
some alumni and students, the media, trustees,
and SBU, MBC, SBC and church officials.

That is about to change, however,
as the Donation Drive becomes national.

We earnestly regret this,
but we see no reasonable alternative.

The check (for $152) was delayed in the mail,

Glen Blake, Ozark District Manager,

Travis Jones, Bolivar Manager,
have been informed of the difficulty.

In order to prevent any further injury and harm to Marie,

This tragedy comes in the wake
of a difficult year for the
SBU Athletics Department.

On November 1, four SBU football players
were dismissed from the university
and eight other disciplined
after a drinking party in the early morning hours
of October 29
ended in the gang-rape
of a 22-year old former SBU student
on a picnic table
by four SBU football players.

Apparently, some of these same athletes
were involved in the incidents
surrounding the deadly December 3 car wreck
that took the lives of three students
and injured two others.

Public Service Commission Complaint

Due to the yesterday's unexpected response
from Empire,
Marie has asked her representatives
to prepare to file a formal complaint
against Empire District Electric Company
with the Public Service Commission.

Marie has asked that a tentative hearing
be set for the
first week in March 2001.

We are still hopeful that these differences
can be resolved before then --
during the February 12-13 meeting
of the SBU Trustees.
